William Golding Limited is delighted to announce an association with the Centre for South West Writing at the University of Exeter and at the Department of English at Exeter's Cornwall Campus.
The first results of this collaboration are three short critical essays by students on the MA English Studies (Literature, Place & Identity) degree and the PhD programme examining three works by William Golding afresh, accessible on our pages: Poems (1934), The Spire (1964) and The Pyramid (1967). You'll find these works engaging, stimulating and an incentive to look further for yourself!
Progress on other adaptations includes a dramatisation of The Spire to be performed in Salisbury, possibly in Golding's Centenary Year 2011. Work is also proceeding on an opera based on The Spire by the Icelandic composer Sveinn Lúðvík Björnsson.
Film rights in all novels except Lord of the Flies are handled by Faber and Faber.
Film rights in Lord of the Flies are owned by Warner Brothers.
